The medical applications of laser

The medical applications of laser

Laser treatment

1. Laser surgery: Laser surgery uses conventional surgical instruments with laser beams instead of metals to separate, cut, remove, coagulate, weld, drill holes, and perform osteotomy on tissues to remove lesions and anastomose tissues, blood vessels, lymphatic nerves, etc.

2. Weak laser therapy: Weak lasers are used to treat dozens of diseases due to their unique biological effects. There are mainly three methods: laser physiotherapy, laser acupuncture, and weak laser intravascular irradiation therapy.

3. Laser photodynamic therapy: A method that utilizes photodynamic effects to treat malignant tumors, including four approaches: surface, interstitial, intracavitary irradiation, and comprehensive treatment.

4. Laser endoscopy treatment: This method of laser treatment for endovascular diseases through endoscopy can be used for endovascular surgery, physical therapy and photodynamic therapy, and has significant development advantages.

Laser diagnosis

Laser diagnosis generally includes the following methods: laser spectral analysis, laser interference analysis, laser scattering analysis, laser diffraction analysis, laser transmission analysis, laser polarization, and other laser analysis methods.

Laser technology for basic medical research

Lasers have also provided new technical means for basic medical research. In this regard, there are: laser micro-beam technology, laser holographic microscopy, laser scanning confocal microscopy, laser fluorescence microscopy, laser bleaching fluorescence recovery measurement technology, laser scanner, etc.
